Emily Francesca

Sound Recordist ~ Sound Designer ~ Sound Editor

Bringing stories to life through sound

I'm Emily, an emerging sound professional working across film and television, specialising in location sound recording and post-production.

Since graduating from the University of York with a BSc in Film and Television Production, I've gained experience as a Sound Trainee on productions including Peaky Blinders, Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators and HBO's upcoming First Day on Earth, starring Michaela Coel.

Alongside my on-set work, I'm building my portfolio across independent film, offering location recording, dialogue and sound effects editing, Foley, ADR and mixing.

With a 14-month industry placement at The Walt Disney Company, I bring a combination of practical experience, technical ability and creative enthusiasm to every project.

Passionate about the power of sound in storytelling, I'm always looking to develop my craft, collaborate with fellow creatives and take on exciting new projects.

Emily's creativity, organisation, and ability to connect with people meant she quickly became more than just an external collaborator; she became an integral part of the company.

She produced work with the scope, quality, and attention to detail you'd expect from a full crew.

Emily showed excellent initiative on set and quickly became confident working with IEMs, Sound Devices A10 radio mics, and Vaxis video transmitters. She was prepared for troubleshooting issues.
Often, resolving problems quickly and calmly without disruption to the shoot. She was efficient in applying a wide range of radio miking techniques, which proved valuable on busy shooting days with tight schedules. Her ability to support the second sound mixer when requested was reliable and much appreciated.
